To curb cross-border movement and smuggling, Pakistan Cabinet decided to impose ban on export of wheat forthwith, and directed the Ministry of Interior and the provincial governments to ensure its enforcement. The Cabinet also directed the Federal and the provincial agencies to safeguard the interests of small growers by eliminating the role of the middleman who thrives on the compelling exigencies of the farmers.
