Cabinet nod for MPWC piped water in rural areas

State Cabinet here on Wednesday took several important decisions. It decided to constitute Madhya Pradesh Water Corporation (MPWC) for implementation of group piped water schemes in rural area. The corporation will avail loans under prescribed procedure to run these schemes and other fiscal management. The Corporation will implement piped drinking water as well as sewage schemes in the urban areas as per requirement and supplying drinking water to families through water connections. The corporation will also carry out the responsibility of constituting village-level operation and maintenance committees to ensure smooth functioning of piped water schemes and capacity building of the committee members.
Sanctions were also accorded under the annual action plan of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for 2012-13. Sanction of Rs 41,96,87.8 lakh has also been accorded for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, NPEGL and Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools.
As per main provisions of the action plan, 803 primary schools will be upgraded to middle schools and 179 satellite school to primary schools. A decision has also been taken to create 13,022 part-time instructors' posts for middle schools. Sanction has also been accorded to set up seasonal temporary hostels for 6,359 children of migrating population and special residential training centres for 39,597 school drop outs or children not going to school and non-residential training centres for 54,140 children. Sanction has been granted for to-and-fro facility for 4,140 children living in remote and forest villages, parent and patron-less urban areas and school-less habitations.
As per sanctions granted under the annual action plan, buildings of 803 middle schools, 196 dilapidated primary schools and 77 decrepit middle schools will be constructed. Besides, additional rooms will be built in 6,354 rural schools and 410 urban schools. Sanction has also been granted for construction of boundary walls of 1247 schools, repair of 472 school buildings, construction of girls' toilets in 13 thousand 397 schools and toilets in 545 urban schools. Necessary material will also be made available in schools. This includes furniture for 1,592 schools and drinking water arrangements in 851 schools.
The Cabinet sanctioned a proposal to start nine new colleges in the State at Indragarh, Baktara, Sheopur, Jaithari, Isagarh, Sitamau, Nateran, Dobi and Tonk Khurd. Besides, creation of new posts in existing colleges at Khilchipur, Jawad, lakhnadon and Government Law Colleges at Indore and Jobat was also sanctioned. Decision was also taken to start new faculties, new subjects and graduation classes in the colleges at Paraswara, Kurwai, Palasia, Chanderi, Palera, Jatara, Neemuch, Pipaliya Mandi, Sironj, Lakhnadon and Nagod. Besides, sanction has been granted for starting two new offices of Regional Additional Directors of the Higher Education Department. A total of 377 new posts have also been sanctioned for colleges and these regional offices.
