The Cabinet sub committee, constituted to study the situation arising out of the Supreme Court direction with regard to eviction of forest encroachments, has been expanded to include all ministers in-charge of districts having forest cover. According to Forest Minister K.H. Ranganath, the Cabinet sub-committee had been expanded in an effort to arrive at a comprehensive decision on encroachments, taking into account the ground realities in the respective districts of Karnataka.
