The Comptroller and Auditor General of Indian (CAG) has indicted several top officials in the Jammu State Forest Department and the State Forest Corporation (SFC) for causing loss worth crores to the department and alleged misappropriation of public funds in last 4-5 years. The CAG report released recently has clearly pointed out that bills involving royalty of Rs 5.84 crores were either not raised or were raised short of 9 Forest divisions. It also indicated that application of pre-revised rates for sale of timber in forest resulted in loss of Rs 94.12 lakhs in seven divisions.
