CAG report indicts Rajasthan Government

The Rajasthan Governemnt has failed to implement the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission, launched in 1991 to provide sustainable safe drinking water to villagers and create awareness among the rural people about the hazards of using unsafe water.The State Government did not release matching contribution of Rs. 42.16 crores under the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme during 1991-97, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has said.
