Call for better management of water resources

A high-level Expert Committee on Water Resources appointed by the Rajasthan Government has recommended rigorous measures for better management of water resources and optimum utilisation of the available reserves.The committee has laid emphasis on generating mass awareness on the water-related issues as well as ensuring people's participation in water management.The committee's chairperson and noted economist, V.S. Vyas - submitting the specialist report to the Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje, at her official residence here over the week-end - called for ensuring "water security" of every citizen in the State by 2015.
