District Collector Navin Mittal on Wednesday expressed displeasure over non-completion of first phase of Indiramma Housing Scheme. He said 41,606 houses were constructed of the 66,886 sanctioned in the first phase. The collector was reviewing the implementation of the scheme at a meeting held at Montessori Mahila College in the city. He said the district average of the first phase of Indiramma houses was 68 per cent and many mandals were still lagging behind the district average. The collector said there was no progress in the scheme in the last three months and warned that stringent action would be initiated against the officials if they failed to secure completion of the scheme. Joint collector S. Suresh Kumar, at a separate meeting, asked officials to issue pattadar passbooks to all the eligible farmers without any delay. He said the passbooks should be issued through the para-legal workers, who were appointed as part of Indira Kranthi Patham. There are reports of delay in distribution of the books, he said and asked the officials to complete the work.
