Call to stop cutting of trees indiscriminately

Sylhet Division Development Student Action Council, Dhaka University yesterday organised a human chain programme at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla of Dhaka University protesting cutting of trees at Khasia Palli at Srimangal in Moulvibazar district. Advocate Abed Raja, President of Sylhet Division Development Action Council, spoke at the programme as chief guest chair with Ehsanul Haque Jasim, President of the council in the chair. The programme was conducted by Mohammod Alamgir, joint secretary of the council, while Jannatul Fardous, Imon Ahmed, Enamul Haque, Khaleda Jasmin Mithila, among others, spoke on the occasion. Speakers said felling of trees is very harmful to our environment. Different animals will be affected due to the felling of trees indiscriminately. They called upon the government to stop felling of the trees.
