A significant number of Canadians seem willing to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to their concern over toxic car emmissions, even if it means paying more for an environmentally friendly car. A recent consumer automotive study asked more than 2,000 Canadians to indicate whether the environment was an issue for them in their new vehicle purchase decision and whether they would be willing to pay more for "greener" cars and trucks. The survey showed that of the 40 percent of Canadians who would expect to pay more for "greener" vehicles, a large number (42 percent) would also be "willing" to pay C$2,000 more for this type of vehicle.
