With the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) planning major technological upgradation in its road-making methods, Lutyens' Delhi is all set for a total makeover. The civic body's ambitious plans for improving a total of 139 roads will hopefully ensure a smooth ride for commuters and make driving a pleasure with better signages, beautified pedestrian walkways and additional greenery. After a gap of many years, NDMC has prepared a major plan that will cover almost all roads, roundabouts, colony roads, back lanes and pedestrian walkways. The entire project would cost NDMC over Rs.17 crores and the money would be spent on improvement of main roads, footpaths and lanes, drainage system and other miscellaneous works.
