CRRI : The much touted Catalytic Convertors (CC) as an answer to vehicular pollution may not be as effective as they are made out to be. The reason is that for a CC to be effective, it requires at least 10 km of travellling time to heat up "and till then they emit very high levels of pollutant", says the Central Road Research Institute.
