CBI sleuths visit Solan to probe HP land deal case

Solan, September 02 A two-member team of the Central Bureau of Investigations on Tuesday, arrived in Rihun village, Solan sub-division, to probe the case where 18 people from Haryana, including Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge Nirmal Yadav, had purchased land allegedly in violation of the Himachal Pradesh Land Reforms and Tenancy Act-1972. The team also visited the office of Tehsildar and inquired about the facts relating to the controversial land deal. Sources in the Revenue department revealed that the team focussed on the execution of sale deeds at a price allegedly much less than the prevailing market rate . The team also gathered some information from Naib Tehsildar N S Chauhan, who had executed the sale deeds, registration clerk and document writer concerning the land deal. They also talked to the person who had identified the sellers and purchasers before the execution of the sale deeds. Sources revealed that after scrutinising some documents, the team also visited Rihun village along with field officials of the Revenue department, where the members also met some of the villagers, who had sold the land in question on August 14.
