CCP spent Rs 65 lakh on shut

PANJIM, OCT 14 Is this not a waste? The Corporation of the City of Panaji spends Rs 65 lakh on its Patto garbage treatment plant! While a large number of bills are still pending clearance on the anaerobic plant of the CCP at Patto, data has brought to light that the plant has cost the corporation close to Rs 65 lakh over a period of seven months. According to reports, the standing committee of the CCP had in July 2007 accorded approval for inviting tenders for disposal of garbage in a scientific manner for an approximate amount of Rs 37 lakh and Rs 10 lakh for civil works. The cost of the plant was to be about Rs 40 lakh. However, records at the CCP shows that the corporation has spent Rs 27.24 lakh on the technology and as much as Rs 21.41 lakh on civil works.
