Capital Development Authority in Pakistan has geared up its work on accomplishing Khanpur dam project in time and to ensure smooth supply of water to the residents of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. CDA sources said over 60 per cent work on the dam had already been completed and the project would be completed by Oct 1999. Khanpur dam was conceived in the backdrop of a severe drought which hit the Federal capital a few years back.
