Accepting the logics and rational of the state the Central Planning Commission has approved the annual plan of Rs 47000 crore for the 2011-12 on Monday in Delhi. The state government has also assured the Planning Commission to increase its own resources during the same period.
Despite getting the desired nod for the annual plan the Chief Minister Mayawati while expressing her dissatisfaction on several counts has demanded central assitance for various projects. She said that if Central Government would have provided desired assistance for Bundelkhand the situation could have been different there. She demanded that all the blocks in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts and in Bundelkhand regions must be declared as drought prone area programme(DPAP).
The Chief Minister also demanded the release of approved Rs 2553 crore under JNNURM in one go. She also said that Rs 1100 crore more will be spent on the welfare schemes of SCST in compariosn to last year."The mandatory provision of BPL list 2002 must be ended for the pension schemes for the destitutes and handicapped" said.
The Chief Minister also demanded the allocation of Rs 300 crore for the houses of poors in rural areas besides providing required monet for the animal insurance schemes in every district. She said that for the smooth sailing for the completion of power projcets the supply of coal was must and Central Government must ensure the supply of it to the state on priority basis. She regretted that despite the insistence of the state governmen the Centre was not ensring the supply of coal to it.
Claiming that literacy rate in the state was much higher than the average literacy rate in the country the Chief Minister also demanded the monetary assistance to the private schools which constitute 85 percent of the total schools and most of them were enjoying the status of aided schools. Mayawati also asked the Central Government to ensure the timely delivery of required quantity of fertilizers.
