The city of Guwahati is set for a major facelift with the Centre approving Rs 3,100 crore for it under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission. The priority areas for development under the project include water supply, drainage, sewerage, road, transport, etc. Revealing this at a press conference today, the Minister for Guwahati Development, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the departments concerned had already been asked to prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for submission to the Centre.
