Setting up of a special cell for speedy clearance of water projects, making rainwater harvesting mandatory prior to environmental clearance, persuading states to contribute their share and central water management schemes are the main planks of the Union water resources ministry's priority in the next financial year. Inaugurating the Water Summit-2004, organised jointly by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) and the government in New Delhi, Union water resources minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, however, said, "All issues related to private sector participation need to be addressed with due consideration to the aspiration and sentiments of the people.
