The Centre would amend the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, if necessary, to curb its misuse by dubious non-government organisations, Union minister of state for home Ch. Vidyasagar Rao said on Saturday. The amendments had become necessary as certain NGOs were acting in contravention of the act by squandering away foreign contributions and carrying out political activity and religious conversions, Mr Rao told reporters at Hyderabad.
