Environmental group Toxics Link has accused the Union Government of dragging its feet over the issue of phasing out mercury and bringing in legislation to regulate its use. Pointing out that India despite being the world's second largest consumer of mercury is yet to have regulations for its imports, Toxics Link said policy makers had failed to address the issue that had become a global concern.
