The Union Government has decided to establish at least one model village in every panchayat union all over the country, at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore each, according to the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, of Tamil Nadu, Mr Pon Radhakrishnan. He pointed out that the proposed model village would have all the basic amenities and other developmental works to improve the standard of living of the people.
