The Union MInister of Environment & Forests, Mr Suresh P Prabhu has requested the Union Home Minister, Mr L K Advani to allocate at least one more battlion to the Government of battlion to the Government of Assam for the Forest Department to look after the security of the officials and staff of the department who are increasingly facing the threats of militants Mr Prabhu has also requested the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mr Jaswant Singh to allocate the necessary funds for raising the battlion.
