CESC to take over power supply from JSEB

CESC Limited will take over power supply services from the Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) by early next year. JSEB consumers feel this new arrangement will remove their long-standing grievances and discontents against the state’s power board.
The Member (Distribution), JSEB, CD Kumar told Business Standard on Thursday that in the process of biddings, CESC had acquired the bid and a letter of intent was issued to the company in October this year.
As per proposed agreement, CESC will look after distribution, maintenance and billings for Ranchi..
The JSEB Board Member said that CESC had already started work and the final agreement between CESC and JSEB would be signed very soon.
JSEB had already sent all data to CESC relating to power consumers.
The verification process in respect of consumers was lengthy because it needed verification from every housesof the consumers.The present Chairman of the JSEB, S N Verma had succeeded in gettingthe approval of all the unions of the JSEB to engage the CESC to take over power supply services in Ranchi by CESC and in Jamshedpur by Tata Power.
