Logging contracts in the Korila Forestry Management Unit (FMU), Mongar (Bhutan) will no longer be given on an ad-hoc basis. Instead, contractors will have to prove that they are capable and trained to carry out sustainable logging. According to the Project Manager of the Third Forestry Development Project (TFDP), Khangma, BB Chhetri, the long-term strategy of the FMU country-wide is to implement sustainable chainsaw felling to ensure minimum enviornmental damage and wastage.
