One rocket Ten satellites. ISRO's PSLV triumph helps it zoom into a niche orbit. THE Indian Space Research Organisation (isro) can justly be proud of a rare achievement. On April 28, isro's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, pslv-C9, successfully launched a record 10 satellites into orbit. These included the 690 kg Indian Remote Sensing Satellite Cartosat-2A, the 83 kg Indian Mini Satellite (ims-1) and eight nano satellites for various international clients, isro chairman G. Madhavan Nair, waving the victory sign for the benefit of photographers, had no reason to fake it.
