Chamrajnagar hopes Govt will allot funds for Kabini project this year

  • 26/02/2003

With the Karnataka State Government all set to present its fourth annual budget, the backward Chamrajnagar district has once again put forth its request for the Kabini second phase project. It has also sought a Rs 250-crore package to develop this town. A majority of tribals spread over B.R.Hills, M.M.Hills and Bandipur National Park have presented their own set of demands. Many tribes feel let down by the Government as it has failed to implement many of the decisions taken during the mini-Cabinet meet. They have also sought a separate tribal commission and reservations for primitive tribes.
