The Supreme Court refused to modify its earlier order declaring Chandni Chowk a "no-hawking zone' and refused to entertain an application moved by some shopkeepers and hawkers. The stretch from Jain Mandir to Fatehpuri will thus remain off-bounds for hawkers even during Ramzan. Hawkers and patriwalas had moved an application before a Supreme Court bench of Justices B P Singh and S H Kapadia asking for permission to set up shop during festivals.
