China said yesterday it "deeply regrets" the U.S. Senate's rejection of a global treaty banning nuclear tests, and it pledged to speed up its own efforts to ratify the pact. A Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said China would maintain its moratorium on nuclear testing despite the Senate's rejection of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT).
