Chinese group here to identify land for industrial zone A Chinese delegation led by Vice President of the Sichuan Chapter of the China Council for Promotion of International Trade Li Gang called on Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake at his office yesterday. The delegation briefed the Premier on the 9th Western China International Economy and Trade Fair which will be held in May in Chengu, the capital of Sichuan Province which is one of the largest provinces in China with a population of 88 million, a media release issued by the Prime Minister's office said. The delegation also invited the Prime Minister to participate in the trade fair. The Chinese delegation is in Sri Lanka to identify a suitable land to set up an industrial zone which can accommodate companies from Sichuan Province interested in investing in Sri Lanka, the release said. The Prime Minister thanked the delegation for their invitation and recalled the close relationship between Sri Lanka and China.
