The followers of the legendary Gauri Devi, who championed the cause of the magnificent Deodars in the higher reaches of Garhwal and triggered off the Chipko Movement in the seventies, have entered the core area of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve in the deliberate move to claim back their traditional rights over the forests and its resources.
