A tiny barrage, with a capacity to store barely 0.13 tmc water to quench the thirst of Bagepalli and Gudibande taluks of Kolar district, in Karnataka, has raised the hackles of Andhra Pradesh. The construction of the barrage across the Chitravathi in Paragodu village of the district, which began on April 16 this year, is the culmination of two years of people's struggle. It will help store water during the rainy season to supply drinking water to 82 surrounding villages.
