Two South African Air Force Oryx helicopters from 15 Squadron in Durban were yesterday making big inroads into the Kubusi forest fire that has raged out of control since last Wednesday. The helicopters were brought in as part of an emergency plan to contain the fire which has destroyed about 460000 pine trees and caused damage estimated at R15million on South African Forestry Company Limited (Safcol) land.
