The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has urged the government to formulate an integrated transport policy aimed at maximum efficiency at minimum cost. The policy should emphasise on higher investment for the sector, levying of user-charge, limiting subsidies to the needed areas and creation of an independent regulator, the chamber said. Improvement in the transport sector is pivotal to the government's dream to develop physical infrastructure in the country.
