Citrus fruit waste could preserve wood

  • 17/10/2002

A new research centre will explore whether citrus waste could be used as a wood protector. The centre will test extraction methods and establish the cost-benefit of manufacturing wood biocides from a range of citrus fruit and fruit parts. The Basque Research Centre (CIDEMCO) will develop a method for processing citrus waste into a starting material for fungicide and insecticide production.
