City lax on imposing Euro IV fuel deadline

Despite the increasing pollution levels, the city is yet to implement the Euro IV fuel deadline that was set for October last year. Petrol bunks in the city have not received the fuels conforming to Euro IV till date and most of them are unaware of the existence of such standards. Even officials of the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) said they are unaware of the actual status of implementation of Euro IV.
As per the road map for green fuels under the National Auto Fuel Policy, use of petrol and diesel conforming to Euro IV (Bharat Stage-IV) norms from April 1, 2010 was made mandatory in 13 cities
