Certain parts of Kochi are experiencing acute drinking water shortage as two pumpsets at the pumping stations have developed a snag. The pumpsets stopped working on February 6 and 18. Kerala Water Authority (KWA) managed to repair one of them and works on the other at Thammanam are still going on. Corporation councilors alleged that the city was facing acute water shortage at all the divisions for the last two weeks. It was pointed out that the KWA had diverted water to some other areas resulting in the city getting less amount of water than what was actually required.
