The four reservoirs networked to the city's water supply system have been well replenished after the past week's heavy rain. Further rain in surrounding areas will improve the levels and the reservoirs could record a surplus. Poondi, the most important reservoir, has been receiving inflow from the River Krishna besides experiencing heavy rainfall. The water spread stood at 2,153 mcft against the reservoir capacity of 3,231 mcft. On Sunday until 6 p.m. the reservoir received 4 cm of rain. Cholavaram received 0.6 cm rain.
