Rampant land conversion and grabbing seems to continue unabated at a number of places on the Porvorim plateau in Goa. Forest officials confirmed that 56 trees have been illegally felled at the site. The Forest officials said that they were not aware of the felling of trees in Porvorim, but assured to sent a mobile squad to investigate the case.
