The Supreme Court today ordered the Delhi Police to immediately remove all illegal hawkers and squatters from the historic Chandni Chowk. A bench of judges BP Singh and Arun Kumar gave the orders to remove hawkers from the area between Jain Mandir and Fatehpuri Mosque.The Apex court gave its direction after the Vyapar Mandal, the local traders' association, moved the court to bring to its notice that the MCD and the Delhi Police had defied an earlier order by not removing the hawkers.
