Cloud seeding put off by two days in Anantapur

Anantapur, July 27: The cloud seeding experiment to be conducted from Anantapur was postponed again by two days. The cloud seeding, which was to be launched on July 24 was initially postponed to July 27 as Agni Aviation Agency, which has entered into an agreement with the state government on conducting the experiment, failed to set up radar station.
The cloud seeding operations project director, Prof. I.V. Muralikrishna, said the cloud seeding was likely to be conducted from July 29. He said all permission were taken from the Central and the state governments for conducting cloud seeding experiment. Prof. Muralikrishna said tests were being conducted on the radar established in Anantapur.
He said the test would be completed within two days and cloud seeding would be started immediately. Answering a query on what was the use of conducting cloud seeding when the district was receiving moderate rains due to depression, Prof. Muralikrishna said some districts in Rayalaseema were not receiving rains.He said the cloud seeding would be conducted for 120 days as per the agreement.
