CM envisions polio-free Sindh

Polio is injurious and dangerous for human life and it is endeavour of present Government to eradicate the same from our province at all costs. This was stated by Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah while talking to media on the occasion of POLIO FREE WALK organised by People's Doctor's Forum, Karachi Division from Chief Minister House to Karachi Press Club this morning. Syed Qaim Ali Shah added that he had taken serious notice of some reported cases of Polio in some districts of Sindh and warned the officers of Health Department to overcome the lapses and pay full attention to control the occurrence of any new case. He said that no any negligence would be tolerated in this regard. Chief Minister Sindh also took serious notice of cholera cases in Mirpurkhas Division as reported in newspapers, and directed the authorities of Health Department to fully arrange campaign against Cholera in Sindh particularly the Mirpurkhas division. He further directed the Health Department that the Provincial Health Department should take such stock of the situation, ensure appropriate measures to counter the prevailing trend of spread of diseases and submit a detailed report in the matter within one week. Chief Minister Sindh was accompanied by renowned social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri, Advisor to Chief Minister for Political Affairs Rashid Rabbani, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Waqar Mehdi, Secretary Health Sindh Shaflque Ahmed Khoso, Secretary to Chief Minister Syed Sohial Akbar Shah, Dr Karim Khawaja President Peoples Doctors Forum, officers of various departments and doctors participated in walk. The participants were raising slogans of Jeeay Bhutto, Jeeay Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan Peoples Party Zindabad. The walk started from Chief Minister House and ended at Karachi Press Club. Walk was also participated by Lady doctors of PDF and lady workers of PPP.
