CM grants Rs 5 cr for drinking water in Kandi region

Recalling sacrifices made by countless Punjabis for attaining freedom for the country, the Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, today expressed optimism that Punjab would emerge as a developed state besides becoming an economic and industrial power by 2020. Meanwhile, speaking about the failure of different governments in providing drinking water to residents of sub-mountainous Kandi region of Punjab, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 5 crore, which would be used exclusively for setting up projects for providing drinking water to residents of the under-developed Kandi area. He handed over a cheque for Rs 5 crore to Minister of Health and Family Welfare Romesh Chandra Dogra.
