CM urged to persuade Maharashtra to release water

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has urged Chief Minister S M Krishna to persuade Maharashtra government to release at least four tmc of water to the Krishna river from Kalmmawadi barrage, following water scarcity being faced in villages in the districts of Belgaum, Bijapur and Bagalkot in Karnataka.
