Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has called for an adequate monitoring mechanism for executing development projects in the model villages announced by the government. So far foundation stones of 14 model villages has been laid in the state. Under the Prime Minister's reconstruction package, 119 villages in Jammu and Kashmir would be developed as model villages. Each model villages would have facilities of proper sanitation, lanes and drains, community information centre, recreation park common facility centre with provision of guestroom and a shopping line for the local educated unemployed youth.
