It's a battle between Calcutta Municipal Corporation and groups involved in felling trees in Kolkata. Unfortunately, it appears that the latter is winning hands down.Even as the government started celebrating 'Forest Week' , officials admitted that almost half the trees planted during the forest week every year have been chopped down and the timber smuggled out.
