Coke will commit itself to more investments in Kerala provided the government honours its commitment of providing some basic infrastructural facilities made three years ago when it invited Coca-Cola to set up a bottling plant, according to Deepak Mehrothra, vice-president of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd in charge of South India. Dr R.N.Athawale, an authority of water management, said there was no depletion in the water table. Due to the water harvesting techniques adopted by the company, the aquifier always acted as a transient storage facility. Rain water harvesting has resulted in putting more water than what was being taken for the needs of the unit.
