Glug down with caution when you are in West Bengal. That was the message from State Environment and IT Minister Manab Mukherjee after he officially confirmed reports that the samples collected from the two bottling plants of a top soft drinks company in the State contained a high level of non-permissible agents like lead and cadmium. The country's soft drink market was taken by a storm last week following a report by an NGO which stated that most of the top soft drinks brands being marketed in India contained a level of pesticides that was much higher than permissible limits.
