Mercury To Plunge Further To 10°C Soon Jaipur: Mercury continued to take a dip across the state on Sunday and many places witnessed a fall in maximum and minimum temperatures. People were seen putting on their warm cloths especially during evening and early morning hours. Mount Abu in the hills while Sriganganagar, Bikaner and Churu in the plains remained the coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of 8 degrees and 11.5 degrees Celsius respectively. Attributing the continued fall in mercury to the passing of northerly winds and vanishing western disturbances, the Met office said temperature will plunge further in the state in the next couple of days. At many places, the minimum temperatures are predicted be on or below 10 degrees Celsius. Jaipurities woke up to another chilly morning as the city experienced a minimum temperature of 16.5°C. In the afternoon, there was a nip in the air as the maximum temperature remained at 26.4°C, almost 4 points below normal. Fog and mist were also seen at farms in and around Jaipur. In districts including Karauli, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Sriganganagar, fog and mist lasted till 9 am in the morning which affected visibility. However, the road, rail and air traffic was smooth in the state. The Met office said the continued dip in the mercury is seen both during day and late evening hours. In its forecast, the Met office said southern and eastern parts of the state should specially brace for chilly weather.
