With existing landfill sites having turned into mountains of garbage, a 60-hectare "engineered' landfill site is set to come up at Bawana in northwest Delhi. Land for the project, which will come up through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) route, is likely to be handed over by the DDA soon. The Delhi Government will also develop another site at Jaitpur. Speaking about the Bawana landfill site, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said: "Waste management is one of the key areas that the government is looking at for the (Commonwealth) Games.
