The Delhi High Court has criticized the government for undue delay in providing alternate plots to citizens whose land was acquired for planned development of the Capital and said that it is the duty of the government to arrange for plots at moderate prices. A division bench of Justices S Muralidhar and S K Mishra expressed displeasure while disposing off the case of an east Delhi farmer's family which had been waging a legal battle. On Tuesday HC directed the Centre to consider within three months their plea seeking an alternative plot against the acquisition of their farmland. The Bench also imposed a cost of Rs 10,000 on the government.
