Complaint lodged against Reddy's mining company

DH News Service, Bellary: A complaint has been lodged against Obalapuram Mining Company, belonging to Tourism and Infrastructure Development Minister G Janardhan Reddy, alleging encroachment of mining areas belonging to others, assaulting, and issuing threats to life. T Ganesh of TNR Mines has alleged that the personnel of Obalapuram Company forcibly entered the mining area belonging to him in Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border area and assaulted the workers there. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said that foreman K Amarnath lodged a complaint at the Toranagal police station against Obalapuram Company's mines manager Anjineyalu and six security personnel. Assault "A group including more than 50 people reportedly assaulted Amarnath on Monday and insulted him. They claimed that the land belonged to them as they had purchased the adjacent MBT Mines. They threatened to kill the concerned if mining is not stopped immediately here. Our family is in mining business in Vithalapur and Tumati areas for the last 50 years. Personnel of Obalapuram Company, which has permission for mining in Malapanagudi area, have illegally entered our area,' Ganesh alleged. Janardhan Reddy is trying to manipulate the borders of mining areas with his money and political influence. CBI probe sought Even the officials dance to his tune, and governments of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh supported him, Ganesh charged. Releasing some records on the mining areas, he demanded CBI probe into the changes allegedly made in the maps.
